03/06/2005 - Motor Vehicle Accident - I 79

     The Star City VFD was alerted at 12:46 along with Mon EMS for an MVA with ejection at the 159 mile marker on Interstate 79.  Unit 202 and Engine 209 both responded.  Unit 202 arrived on scene first at 12:56 and reported a single vehicle in the median with one patient ejected. 20-4 established incident command and confirmed one patient entrapped and one patient ejected from the vehicle.  HealthNet was alerted for aeromedical  transport prior to fire department arrival.  Mon EMS treated two patients and later pronounced the ejected patient deceased on scene after HealthNet arrived. Crews assisted EMS with patient care and removal from the vehicle. Co. 17(Granville) and Greene County Co. 18(Mt. Morris) also assisted with the closing of the Interstate.  Mon EMS transported the driver of the vehicle by ground to Ruby Memorial Hospital.  I-79 Northbound remained closed until units cleared at 15:02.
