The Star City VFD was alerted along with Co.
12(Brookhaven) and Co.
14(Cheat Lake) for a confirmed structure fire in the area of

Hartman Run Road
(Brookhaven's First Due) at 19:34. Multiple callers stated
heavy fire coming from what was believed to be an abandoned
structure. Engine 209, Engine 201, and Unit 202 all responded.
Units approaching the scene reported smoke showing from several
miles away. Engine 209 arrived on scene first at 19:45 and
reported a fully involved structure fire. Shortly thereafter
12-2 established incident command. Three 1 1/2" lines were used
for extinguishment. Initially water supply was minimal until
Engine 141 hooked into a hydrant approx. 1000 ft away from the
scene. Engine 141 fed into Engine 201 which fed Engine 209 and
Engine 122. A total of more than 1500 ft of hose was laid to
battle the blaze. Command 12 called the fire under control at
20:09. Crews remained on scene to extinguish remaining hot
spots. Cause of the fire is under investigation and unknown at
this time. Mon EMS stood by. Tanker 172(Granville) also
initially responded but was returned to service after an
adequate water supply was established. No injuries were
reported from this incident. Remaining Units cleared at 22:00.
