The Star City VFD was alerted along with Co.
12 (Brookhaven), Co. 14
(Cheat Lake) and Tanker 157 (Clinton District) for a structure
fire at 1704 Mileground Road at 13:12. Engine 201 and Unit 202
responded. Mecca-911 had received conflicting reports that a
storage building was on fire and that a vehicle was on fire.
12-1 arrived on scene, established command, and advised that
there was a pick-up truck on fire approx. five feet from two
storage buildings. Engine 201 arrived on scene first at 13:23.
A 1 1/2" pre-connected attack line was pulled to knock down the
heavy fire. Engine 122 arrived on scene and supplied Engine 201
with additional water. After the fire was knocked a foam
pro-pack was used to smother the remaining hot spots. Upon
investigation, no fire extension into the surrounding exposures
was reported. 12-1 called the fire under control at 13:28.
Tanker 157(Clinton District) was also alerted but was returned
along with remaining units not on scene. Engine 201 and Unit
202 returned to quarters while Co. 12 units remained on scene
for the tow-truck. Co 12 became available at 14:22.
